14,496'

Examples of the car signs that will be on our vehicles

This is what I saw at the finish last year!

This is what I can't wait to look down from this year: at 14,496 feet elevation, Mt. Whitney is the highest peak in the lower 48 states.

We are just days away until Badwater! First, good luck to the all Hardrockers this weekend! Go for it Scott! Everything is packed and ready--I am ready! I am just concentrating on eating right these last few days (thanks Mer), resting up, and getting psyched up! I guess I don't need to work on the last one too much because I am so excited! I am excited to see my parents who fly in on Thursday. They will be watching our dog and house while we are away. Thanks Mom & Dad! I can't wait to get my crew altogether (thanks guys for joining me on this journey) and see friends at the pre/post race festivities!

.

I know race day is looming because I had a race dream last night: I woke up on race morning and couldn't find any of my Drymax socks! Someone took them all! I was wandering around looking for socks to wear on race morning! Well, thanks to Bob from Drymax, I won't need to worry about that!

.

The forecast doesn't look too hot (it could be worse):

Low 91°F
Precip 0 %

In honor of Michael Jackson, I think you should remember his wise ultra-running advice:

Keep on with the force - Don't Stop
Don't stop 'til you get enough!

Go get 'em, Jamie!

I won't say good "luck" (even though it's a common thing to say) cause you don't need LUCK at this point. You have trained harder than I have ever seen anyone train for a single event. You deserve to win! You deserve the overall CR up to Whitney! Now go do what you do! This is the celebration of your training! Be safe.

Hey Jamie

Good luck at Badwater. I'll be out there too crewing for Kelvin Marshall like I did last year. Drymax also supplied his signs (those guys rock). Put a photo of the sign on my blog plus the sign we had last year LOL

Cheers
Ian

Jamie,

I know you will have a great race and will break all sorts of records.

You have trained hard, stuck to your diet and are a fierce (and yet so sweet) competitor!

We (Tristan, Gilligan and I) will toast your victory with frozen yogurt, cupcakes and all sorts of tasty treats (if only there was a Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory here in MD we throw in a chocolate covered apple for good measure). We might puke afterwards but it would be so worth it! Anyway puke training might be one of the many area's I am deficient in my ultra training this VT100.

Have fun and run strong out there.

Hey Jamie,
Sure you have heard the below quote. Either way, break right through that wall on your way to 146, you'll do awesome!!
Chris

"Brick walls are there for a reason. The brick walls are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are there to show how badly we want something. Because the brick walls are there to stop the people who don’t want something badly enough. They are there to keep out the other people."

You are a super star! It sounds like it was hotter this year then last year and you still crushed.

I crewed Phil McCarthy this year and got a chance to see you in action. You are an amazinf runner. You make it seem easy. I paced about 60 miles of the course, it was awesome. I hope to run it some day.
